Deemed one of the most liveable (but expensive) cities in the world, we were excited to spend a whirlwind 48hrs in Zurich on the way to Italy!
From cable cars and mountains, to chocolate tasting and mind-bending illusions, our brief time in Switzerland was magical.

Things to do
Sunset at Lindenhof Hill: an oasis in the heart of bustling Zurich, Lidenhof Hill offers panoramic views of the Limmat River and the Old Town. This is the ideal location to enjoy a pretzel at sunset.
Explore the Old Town: think beautiful buildings, cosy cafes, picturesque streets and luxury shopping. Zurich’s Old Town is the perfect place to wander and get lost, immersing yourself in the city’s rich culture.
Visit the Lindt Home of Chocolate: take a glimpse into the origins and art of chocolate-making while indulging in tastings and demonstrations of Lindt’s signature products. Be sure to book in advance, as tickets are timed and sell out quickly.
Immerse yourself in the WOW Museum: experience optical illusions, puzzles and augmented reality in this Insta-worthy interactive museum.
Take the Felsenegg Cable Car: admire the natural beauty of Switzerland by taking the Adliswil cable car up to Felsenegg. Felsenegg offers breathtaking views of the city, the Limmat River, and the Swiss Alps. It’s a popular spot for hiking, picnicking, and enjoying the natural beauty of the area.
Stay
We stayed at HITRental Zurich which was nice for the price and close to the train station. Everything was easily accessible by walking. If we went back, I’d love to stay somewhere along the river.
Transport
Trams run through the city, but Zurich is a walkable city. The Felsenegg cable car and Lindt Museum are accessible via train.
